Trans Am series, they run in the states and Canada. Some of the most fun road racing there is to watch.

Big hp mega torque big block V8's in em, 700 hp or so, and about the same ft/lbs of torque.

The body shape is Jag XKR. The cars must conform to the hood roof and rear deck lines of a production car and have the same body seams and mirrors, but they are composite bodies on a tube frame.

Other than body shape they have nothing at all to do with that car though. The Jag XKR is very popular for it's aerodynamics and because the original car has good dimentions to fit the necessary racing chassis under.
